As a 501(c)(4) nonprofit organization, Straight Ahead is allowed to endorse electoral candidates, which we do in local and state elections in Allegheny and Philadelphia counties. We only endorse candidates who we believe will a) advance decarceration efforts, b) promote or protect laws and public policies that directly reform the carceral system, or c) invest in resources and programs that prevent violence and provide true public safety.
